Aspartame’s role in migraine

Hoping everyone’s Christmas was pain-free, merry and fulfilled family-bonding, prayer and peace.

Back to migraine talk – I have spoken of chemicals and their effect on migraines. One guilty culprit is Aspartame – the sweetener that is touted as a zero sugar product to enhance sales by companies to sucrose intolerant individuals.  Aspartame is actually a drug and an excitotoxin that damages nerve endings in neurons. This aspartame inhibits the release of serotonin by our cranial neurons, thereby creating conditions for migraines.

Migraineurs should avoid sucrose and aspartame – different reasons – same outcome – induces migraines and increases pain sensitivity.
